Powerlifting America is proud to introduce two comprehensive policies—the Powerlifting America International Teams Coaching Policy and the International Coaching Responsibilities—designed to elevate the standard of coaching for our international teams. These policies underscore our commitment to competitive fairness for U.S. athletes at international events, ensuring they have the support, professionalism, and unbiased guidance needed to excel on the global stage.
The International Teams Coaching Policy establishes a robust framework that prioritizes athlete development, safety, and performance excellence. Key provisions include stringent coaching qualifications, such as mandatory IPF and PA certifications, SafeSport training, and anti-doping education, to guarantee high standards of expertise and integrity. To safeguard fairness, coaches are prohibited from soliciting athletes for personal gain or coaching against U.S. athletes, maintaining objectivity and loyalty to our national team. The policy also outlines clear protocols for health, safety, diversity, and conflict resolution, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all athletes.
Complementing this, the International Coaching Responsibilities document details the roles of Head Coaches, Coaches, and Assistant Coaches. It emphasizes the Head Coach’s authority in managing athlete attempts and team representation, ensuring consistent and fair decision-making during competitions. Coaches and Assistant Coaches are tasked with supporting athletes while adhering to strict guidelines on attire, conduct, and communication, reinforcing a unified team presence.
These policies reflect Powerlifting America’s dedication to creating a level playing field where U.S. athletes can compete with confidence, backed by coaches who uphold the highest standards of professionalism and impartiality. We invite our community to review these policies on our official website and join us in supporting our athletes as they represent the United States with pride and integrity at international events.
